Week 3 ... where nothing much happens ...

It's been a fairly quiet week here on the 101 list front. I've been looking through the list and saying "eek!" a lot at the things I'm supposed to do once a month and haven't, with less than 2 weeks to go I need to get a move on!

I've kept up with my weekly £1 into my terramundi. So far the pot has had more put into it in the last 3 weeks than the last couple of years at least! I've also made time to sit and read with Izzy if I think she's in need of quiet time. I don't really count the times I use books to distract her for five minutes!

I've used the slow cooker twice. Last week I made sausages in cider - actually, apple juice - which was pretty good. This evening I served up a type of Chinese braised beef. It was ok and really flaky but disappointingly chewy, and although Adam liked the subtle flavours I thought it was a bit weak. Still, I've used the slow cooker so that's good! I worked out that using the slow cooker once every two weeks Oct-Mar is approximately 59 times, so I've rounded that up to 60.

Last week I had the NCT mummies over. This time there was a lot less snow and all but one of them made it - this meant 7 mummies and 7 babies all squeezed into our lounge! Suddenly the place looked very small! I made a cake for it, a St Clement's Drizzle Cake - basically lemon drizzle cake but with orange as well. This wasn't overly new to me as I've made a lemon drizzle cake before, but this recipe was new, from In The Mood For Entertaining by the fabulous Jo Pratt. It was pretty yummy and it seemed to go down well with the NCTMs.

I've done the Davina workout DVD another 2 times too. Last Thursday evening (another "oh god, I've not done it this week yet" moment) and then on Sunday when Adam took Izzy out to the city with him. I promptly wrecked all my work by eating 3 pieces of chocolate orange, yum ...

As for our Love Film DVDs, we've had 2 since Black Sheep. Battlestar Galactica: Razor was sent straight back without watching as Adam now owns it, and he watched Transformers on Saturday night when I went to bed early.

Finally, we watched Up ... those first 10 minutes are so emotional! Pretty funny though.

Crikey - it makes me look a lot busier than I feel I've been!
